Giving Thanks

So after a wonderful weekend and my parents buying me a new TV this weekend I'm feeling the need to reflect on things I am thankful for because sometimes I forget and take things for granted.
1. My parents. Not only did they upgrade my tv this weekend and I know feel like I'm at the football game I'm watching, they also pay for my apartment, my tuition and my gas money. Without their help I wouldn't be able to do many of the things I do. I probably would not be going to graduate school right now. And if I was I would not be able to drive to my internship or to EL all the time. I really have the best parents in the world.
2. My friends. I have great friends who are always up to something. I had a great time "tailgating" with Alyssa this weekend before the football game. I got to go out with Brad and Chris one night this weekend and Myc, Angela and Chris another night this weekend. I also spent some great time with my Canterbury peeps after church. I couldn't ask for any better friends.
3. My Boyfriend. Chris is a wonderful person. We have a lot of fun together and while we occasionally get on each others nerves we always are able to work things out or forget about them. Also he lets me come and visit him all the time and crash in his room. I'm glad he's figured out a bit more about what he wants to do with his life, it makes him a happier person and that makes me happier. He also has ways to make me laugh and feel ridiculous and just be a joyful person.
4. College Football. I'm pretty sure that when it's not football season I'm slightly depressed. I think part of the reason this weekend was so awesome was that it was the start of college football. The Spartans won, which of course makes me happy but I've pretty much watched football since Thursday and it just makes me happy. Good thing there's about 4-5 months of college football every year.
5. My internship. I have one of the best internships a person could ask for. I get to set my own hours. My boss is flexible with things. I had one of the best experiences I could ask for this summer running the summer reading program. I am 99% sure that this internship will be the reason I will be successful in finding a full time job I will love when I graduate in the spring.
6. Libraries. I can only hope that other people love libraries as much as I do. Based on the number of people that come to the library and use the library I think libraries will be around to stay for a while. But saying that anyone in the state of Michigan that can come to the Capital on Thursday this week at 10 am to protest, it would be appreciated. The closing of the state library means a lot of issues for many of the libraries in the state of Michigan. I want to stay in this state after graduation, but I need public libraries to still be there, and be hiring people. We need the Library of Michigan to make that possible.
7. The Spartan Marching Band. The SMB pretty much makes Spartan football 100xs better. I love listening to the band play and see them march. I'm sad that Chris isn't doing it this year, but I'm excited and proud that Andrew made the band. It was great to watch him this weekend and see him succeed and not mess up at all.
8. My little brother. I have the best little brother in the world. Andrew is spectacular and because of him I have this great new tv, because he convinced Mom and Dad that they should buy me a new TV so he could have my old one. Plus he lets me come play Guitar Hero and hang out with him.

School starts tomorrow. I hope this is a good semester and I know that if nothing else it's one step closer to being a masters graduate and be able to get a job. Hope everyone had a great long weekend and has a great week.

Currently Reading: When It Happens
Currently Listening: Little Women (well I was until my CD player broke again)
