Well it's been quite a while since I last blogged. Somehow even though I'm always reading everyone else blogs I never actually update mine. Part of this is because nothing much exciting has been going on, and I've been traveling a fair amount, which while that is exciting I never think about writing about it once I get home.
So I'll give you an update:
1. I'm still looking for a job. I'm well over 100 applications and to the 1 year mark of trying to find something. I keep applying (3-4 a week) and keep praying that someone will call me for an interview and like me and offer me a job.
2. I'm still very active in the Harry Potter knitting group on Ravelry. I finished my sweater I was working on in November:
I also made a cow helmet cover for my ski helmet for our trip last week:
And I'm working on finishing up a pair of socks and a lovely shawl that should be done in the next week or so. I promise to come post when I get them finished and photographed.
3. I've lost nearly 35 pounds since September. A combination of portion control, watching what I'm eat and not mindless snacking and going to water aerobics/cardio knitting have gotten me here. I feel great which was the goal.
4. I went to Orlando for the Capital One bowl and afterward my brother and I went to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios. We had a blast and it was fun to spend time with just my brother:
5. I've been back to Michigan 3 times already this year, and I'll be going again before the month is over. The first trip (and this next one) were to go to the orthodontist. Hopefully I only have 2 more trips after this until I'm done! The second trip was to go see my boyfriend who is working on a second degree up at Michigan Tech. We hadn't seen each other since November and we had a wonderful week enjoying the winter wonderland, including the winter carnival ice sculptures, snow shoeing and skiing:
And the last trip was last week for my brother and boyfriend's spring breaks. Mom and I went up and went skiing at our favorite place from when we were growing up. My boyfriend learned how to ski and we had a wonderful time:
6. I also went to a fundraiser dinner for SIDS awareness, and was one of the featured "success stories" since I had SIDS as a baby. It was fun to get dressed up for the evening:
So I guess life really has been more exciting than I think it is. My mom and I are going to the Houston Rodeo tomorrow, I'm hoping that I make it through alright since I have such a severe horse allergy. We are sitting way up at the top and plan to stay far away from the arena the horses are in for the livestock show. I will remember to update more, even if it is just pictures of my knitting stuff!
