First exciting news:
I HAVE A JOB!!!! I am the new Children's Librarian for the largest branch of the county system where my parents live in Texas. This is the main reason for all the crazyness. When I found out on the 24th of last month things went into overdrive (but it was the best birthday present by far since my birthday was the 26th!). My mom and I spent my birthday and the day after looking at apartments closer to my new job. We found one we liked and got things moving to get into it. Then for Memorial Day weekend we went to go see my little brother who is interning in Baton Rouge for the summer. We had a nice visit (minus my killer headache on Sunday) and enjoyed a day of autocross while we were there. Then bright and early Tuesday morning my mom and I flew to Detroit, rented a U-Haul and with the help of two movers loaded all my stuff from storage onto the truck and on Wednesday we started driving back to TX. No issues while we were driving or packing, the Lord was smiling on us with good weather and only 2 bad construction areas.
We unloaded into my apartment on Saturday morning and I have spent most of this week driving between my new apartment and my parents place getting my stuff and unpacking. Things still look like a bomb has gone off, but hopefully by the end of the weekend things will be looking better.
On Tuesday since I was sick of packing/unpacking all day I took the night off and went to the Local Yarn Store (LYS) that is about 15 minutes from me. I had never been and it was wonderful! They were having a knit night and I really enjoyed myself. I will be going back. Actually I'll be going back tomorrow because they offer spinning classes on Friday afternoons! I have been trying to learn to spin for months and it just won't click, so I'm hoping having someone helping me will get things clicking. I'm super excited for it.
I haven't gotten much knitting done the last couple weeks because of all the crazy things, but I'm really hoping that once work starts Monday I can spend my evenings and part of my lunch hours working on my knitting projects. I have so many things started that I really want to finish.
Awe sadness, blogger won't let me upload photos right now. Well I'll just have a picture heavy post next week once my apartment looks better and I've started my new job!
Edit: Pictures are uploading now so here are a couple of my latest crafts:
Deathly Hallows Illusion Dishcloth
Crocheted Pearl Necklace
Fluer DeLaCour Inspired Fascinator
An Almost Finished Tee For Me!
