Things are Finally Settling Down

I feel like things are starting to settle into a routine, at least at home. I'm hoping that I can get that way at work soon too. It's difficult to catch up when I'm working off someone else's plans and they didn't leave very much to go off of. But the part-time assistant (who started a month before me) and I are slowly figuring it out, and they managed to get all the desks moved around how they want them.
Work has been pretty crazy, we've been averaging about 40 kids for story time, which is way too many for the kids to really get anything out of it. I like to have 10-15 kids for story time because you can get them to participate and they tend to pay better attention. We are trying to figure out a better way to do it for next summer, or even for the fall if the numbers stay up this high. We are mostly thinking about adding a second story time for each age group and possibly starting a baby story time. It should be fun if we can get it going.
My knitting time has been reduced, but I'm still working on a couple things. I finished up some stuff for swaps that I was involved in, a garden hat,  tea cup pin cushion and a panda bear.

I've gotten boxes from the first two swaps (both Gryffindor/Hogwarts themed) which were awesome, but I'm still waiting on my zoo swap box. I'm unsure where the person sending me one is coming from so it could be somewhere international which is why it hasn't arrived yet.
I am super excited for Thursday! I'm going to see a double feature of Harry Potter Parts 1 and 2 with some people from other branches in the county. It should be a blast. I've got a great shirt, headband, earrings and I'm hoping to finish up a bag by then! I'll be sure to post pictures of our adventure that night. And some of the girls from my branch are going to a roller derby on Saturday night and I invited myself along with them. It should be fun, and maybe I'll feel like I have a social life again after this!
Well time to get ready for work!
