Almost Easter!

With Easter coming up Sunday I think I have done a decent job with keeping up on blogging this Lent. I'm hoping to continue with updating once or twice a week as the rest of the year progresses.
Tonight I will be going to the Maundy Thursday service, and since the alter guild is looking for new members I will be helping with the stripping of the alter tonight as my first step into the alter guild. It should be a great experience. I'm also excited for the foot washing before the alter stripping, it's always a moving experience.
I've submitted my application for the job that I did a preliminary interview with at the library conference last week. Fingers crossed that they will be calling me the first week of May to set up a formal interview. I also sent off an application for a part time position in my home town. I would love to go back, and hopefully I would be able to find something else part time so that I could survive.
My braces are scheduled to come off the first week of May! I'm so excited about this, and since it means a trip back to MI I will also get to see CB since he is coming home that week before starting his summer classes. I'm looking forward to a week back in MI and getting to spend time with him without his stress of classes.
Not much else going on (other than a large amount of yarn I've bought/ordered in preparation for the summer term of the Harry Potter Knit Crochet House Cup), but I finally took some pictures of projects and such that I've been working on! So now some pictures!
Contents of my Swap Box!
I did a swap with my Gryffindor house from my knitting group. A swap is an exchange of items, normally at least 1 handmade item, some yarn, a pattern and some other little goodies. This swap was a surprise swap, so you didn't know who was sending you a box, and the person that you had didn't have you. I sent off my box to my partner that had a car, a cupcake, Canary Creams, a bunny pattern, 3 skeins of yarn and some giant jelly beans. She loved it. I just got my box this week and it had all these great goodies in it! I'm super excited about the MSU dishcloth she made me and getting to make some socks out of that lovely purple sock yarn.
Goodies from TLA
So one of the best things about library conferences (other than the fantastic sessions) is the exhibit hall where publishers, vendors and other library related businesses show up to showcase products and services. There are always tons of goodies, including Advanced Reader Copies of upcoming books from publishers. Also pretty much everything is available at a discount. I came home with 33 ARC, 5 signed books, a new puppet and lots of other goodies.
Crocheted Necklace
And I finally took a picture of the necklace I made. I think it turned out great and it's fun to wear. I will be making more of these for sure!

Have a great and happy Easter everyone!
